Welcome to Principles with Cory and Logan. In this episode we interview our special guest- Amanda Angle. Amanda works as a CPA at Watkins Uiberall and has over 15 years of experience that includes work for small and regional firms. Prior to merging with Watkins Uiberall, Amanda managed her own firm for 4 years. Amanda specializes in individual and corporate taxation. Industries within Amanda’s client base include healthcare, restaurant, manufacturing, nonprofit, and other professional services. She is also highly involved in her local community of Tupelo, MS with local involvement including: Exchange Club of Tupelo, Rotary Club, Tupelo Women’s Club, Jim Ingram Leadership Class 2015, North Mississippi Medical Center Health Care Foundation (Board Member), Regional Rehab (Board Member), Family Resource Center (Board Member), First Baptist Church (Treasurer), Oak Meadows Homeowners Association (Treasurer).
In this episode we discuss with Amanda how to maintain lifestyle balance with such a busy schedule as well as how high performers view decision making. Some points from this episode:

Can’t Stay Relevant if Resistant to Change

In this episode of Principles with Cory and Logan we sit down to discuss leadership with Ty Crane. Ty is the 4th generation leader at F.L. Crane & Sons. He discusses what it is like growing up learning the family business from an early age and the leadership lessons he has learned along the way. Some of the leadership lessons that Ty shares in this episode include:
-Position is not something given it is earned.
-You can't stay relevant if you are resistant to change.
-Leaders eat last.
-His journey to having a healthy discontent and healthy view of failure.
-Getting team members involved, If the opinions of those in the room don't matter then why even let them in the room.

There have been many challenges throughout 2020, however, there have been just as many opportunities. Wherever challenges exists opportunity is always present.

31 Days of Wisdom Day 11-
"Righteous- Right Relations"
The focus of this chapter is on righteousness or right relations in all areas of life. Also, check out what we are supposed to hold back- our criticism and our slander and what we are to share- our stuff. We however, tend to get this twisted and share our criticism and hold back our stuff.
My favorite verses in this chapter:
1. To set high standards for someone else, and then not live up to them yourself is something that God truly hates. But it pleases Him when we apply the right standards of measurement.
10 (a). The blessing that rests on the righteous releases strength and favor to the entire city...
11 (a). The blessing of favor resting upon the righteous influences a city to lift it higher...

31 Days of Wisdom-Day 10 Words and Wealth

31 Days of Wisdom, day 10, Proverbs 10.
In this video we kickoff our 31 days of wisdom where we read 1 chapter of Proverbs daily for the next 31 days.
We can take a look around and we know that the world is in need of a lot of different things but one thing it is definitely in need of is.....WISDOM.
Day 10- Words and Wealth
Chapters 1 -9 of Proverbs has almost been like a conversation between a father and a child with the father instructing the child. In chapter 10 and going forward we get into the 2 line sayings and short sayings that Proverbs is none for and these dudes pack a punch!
As you read through chapter 10 there are 2 main themes to notice: wealth and words. Notice how scripture says wealth is gained and lost. Also, notice how the words we use can either bring life and create good or they can bring disaster or "like a rod beating others on the backside."
ACTION- Assess scriptures view of both words and wealth.........what are your thoughts as it pertains to your words and your thoughts around wealth......are there any gaps between the what scripture says and your view?

Day 9- WHICH HOUSE YOU GOING TO?
This chapter is really interesting in the way it was written and laid out. There are 18 total verses that are broken down into 3- 6 verse sections. Lady Wisdom makes her call and invitation in the first 6 verses and the adulterous woman makes her call and invitation in the last 6 verses, but sandwhiched right in between in a 6 verse section that talks about the key to making wise choices. - HUMILITY.

Day 8- "Home Builder"
On day 5 we talked about the HOME WRECKER well today there's a stark contract with the HOME BUILDER. Today we see yet again LADY WISDOM. Both women are seeking companions yet they are completely different. Lady Wisdom brings revelation to help us reign in life.
Starting out in chapter 8 wisdom calls out from the mountain of influence or from above, but it is not hard to find because it is found on the street level if we will only listen. The great thing is, we do not need to be super intelligent or smart only a tender heart.
As you go through your day are you attempting to go at it alone or are you engaging THE HOLY SPIRIT in your decision making?

31 Days of Wisdom, day 6, Proverbs 6.
In this video we kickoff our 31 days of wisdom where we read 1 chapter of Proverbs daily for the next 31 days.
We can take a look around and we know that the world is in need of a lot of different things but one thing it is definitely in need of is.....WISDOM.
Day 6- Beware the 4 Hunters: DEBT, LAZINESS, GOSSIP, LUST.
There's a ton of wisdom in this particular chapter, most of the chapter is about warnings. In this you'll see there are 4 hunters looking to ambush and rob you of that full life. Throughout Proverbs Solomon talks about the wise person is the one who can receive correction and discipline....so as you read through chapter 6 watch out for these 4 hunters: debt, laziness, gossip, and lust.
Procrastination is believing my future person will be more proactive than my present person. -Mark Cole
ACTION- the overall theme in chapter 6 is an encouragement to be mindful of and to stay away from these 4 hunters. To give in to any of them is to give away a bit of your freedom. Take a quick assessment and see how easily you personally fall prey to quickly going into debt.....laziness or procrastination....gossip.....and lust.
