Welcome back to The Cory Lee Show, where remarkable stories meet powerful life lessons.
In today's episode we're diving into an incredible journey of transformation, tenacity, and faith with our guest, Brandon Johnson.
From the depths of shame to the heights of business success, Brandon opens up about his harrowing climb out of personal despair. Once entangled in a web of lies and battling addiction, he shares how embracing the truth and accepting the love of those around him — including the selfless love of Jesus and the steadfast support of his wife — set him free from his past.
Brandon isn't just another entrepreneur; he's a testament to the power of second chances. Transitioning from casual sales of eBay and baseball cards to running a thriving business that provides for his team and serves the community, Brandon reveals the secrets of spotting deals and building an enterprise from scratch.
Our conversation today peels back the layers on the real challenges small businesses face, especially the art of assembling a solid team that shares your vision. Despite refusing to offer traditional insurance – because he values community support over policies – Brandon's approach to teamwork is as unconventional as it is caring.
Prepare to be inspired as Brandon opens up about his rapid growth from a hobby to securing a warehouse and how his faith plays into seizing opportunities and avoiding the distractions that life throws at us. He shares a vital passage from Ephesians that guides his gratitude and diligence in business.
Cory and Brandon tackle the gritty realities of entrepreneurship — from enduring failure to systems development — and the mental game of hating to lose over the love of winning, drawing on comparisons with elite athletes.
Listeners, this is not just a story about business achievement; it's a tale of personal redemption and a clarion call to anyone grappling with their truths. Join us as Brandon extends a heartfelt invitation to connect, offering insights that resonate beyond the airwaves. Here's to learning, growing, and seizing the day on The Cory Lee Show. Let's dive in.

Leading The Bride

Wednesday Jan 24, 2024

Wednesday Jan 24, 2024

Welcome to The Cory Lee Show, a podcast dedicated to building leaders and transforming culture.
In our latest episode, "Leading the Bride" I dive deep into the topic of leadership, sharing valuable insights that I hope will ignite something on the inside of you and empower you to make a positive impact on the world around you.
In this episode we discuss the equipping process, drawing inspiration from the teachings in Ephesians 4 and sharing practical steps for creating a leadership culture that empowers and empowers others. We emphasize the importance of leading others with a heart posture of willingness and genuine care, rather than compulsion, and explores the impact of insecurity on leadership.
I highlight three key questions that leaders need to be able to answer for those they lead:
- Do you care about me?
- Can you help me succeed?
- Can I trust you?
Through real-life examples and teachings from the scriptures, Cory illustrates how leaders can bring out the best in others, empower them, and create a culture of continuous equipping and empowerment. He skillfully demonstrates the five steps of the equipping process - "I do it, I do it, you watch me, you do it, I watch you, you do it, you teach someone else."
As you listen to this episode, you'll gain valuable insights into becoming a more effective and empowering leader, ready to take on new challenges and bring out the best in those you lead.

Disciplined for Greatness

Wednesday Jan 17, 2024

Wednesday Jan 17, 2024

🎙️ Welcome to The Cory Lee Show!
In this episode we entitled Disciplined for Greatness, we discuss how discipline is the bridge between thought and accomplishment.
Here are 3 key takeaways that I hope really stick with you:
1. Potential and unfulfilled potential
- The concept of potential is both optimistic and filled with hope, promising success and greatness.
- Unfulfilled potential is a negative that can lead to regret and unfulfilled dreams.
- The importance of dreaming big not just for ourselves but for impacting those around us.
2. The importance of discipline
- Discipline is the ability to give yourself a command and follow through on that command.
- It's the bridge between thought and accomplishment, necessity and productivity.
- The idea that discipline attracts opportunity really resonated with me.
3. Overcoming the fears that hold us back
- Fear of getting it wrong, fear of the unknown, fear of standing out, and fear of success are all barriers that can limit our potential.
- Living like an underdog is comfortable but living like a champion requires embracing high expectations and pushing beyond comfort zones.
- Faith and fear share a lack of proof and evidence, with fear often being faith in the wrong outcome.
As you listen I hope it causes you to reflect deeply on the power of discipline and the impact unfulfilled potential can have. My hope is that this episode witll motivate you to embrace the discomfort of growth and strive for a disciplined approach in pursuing those big goals.

Derek shares his morning ritual for staying grounded and setting intentions for the day, including his unique strategy to catch wandering attention through physical cues.

Welcome back to The Cory Lee Show! Today, we're sitting down with Scott LaPierre.
In this podcast episode my guest Scott LaPierre and I discuss leadership in the home. One of his statements that stood out to me the most is a question often asked in fatherhood circles:
"But I would be a hypocrite if I talk to my boys about purity when I'm not being pure. So we're only being hypocrites if we're holding our children to a standard that we don't presently hold."
We have to be examples ourselves. Scott also gives some great advice on we are not called to be perfect parents but we are supposed to be present.
Scott is a former Army officer, teacher, and coach who now is a conference speaker and pastor. I know his testimony is sure to stir your spirit. From his early days in Northern California to an abrupt awakening by the sudden loss of his brother, Scott's path has been anything but ordinary.
He takes us through the pivotal moments of his life, where his encounter with The Gospel shifted his entire world view, leading him from a successful teaching and coaching career to the purpose-driven life of a pastor in Washington. As a father of ten, Scott has unique insights on the significance of spiritual leadership within the home.
Here are a few of the topics we discuss:
💑 Strong Marriages and Leadership at Home
✨ The Transformative Power of Scripture
🛡️ Parenting and Spiritual Mentorship
🔥 Parenting Standards and Hypocrisy

⚠️ Our most controversial episode of the Cory Lee Show to date....
In this episode, I have a conversation with entrepreneur Nico Lagan and Nico holds nothing back with his opinions about the "fight for men's rights and the resurgence of traditional masculinity."
As a warning, Nico may share some thoughts and opinions that may not align with your views or even my own opinions, but I encourage you to listen as a student with a heart to grow personally.
Growing up Nico didn't have a masculine figure in his life. Without the guidance he associated with and idolized the wrong men. Before making the shift to who he is now, he lived a life as an addict and a drug dealer. After spending more than a decade on the wrong path, working a 9-5 he didn't love he realized how many others in the world are just like him and need someone to step in and fight for them.
Masculinity is under attack in today's society, and Nico fearlessly champions strong men. Although others might see Nico's content as blunt and unapologetic and "controversial" it brings back the fundamentals when men were allowed to be men. What was once a standard way of living, is now villainized.
As a leader in today's society Nico has been featured on many online publications, podcasts that have hundreds of millions of views, featured in Times Square in NYC and it's just the beginning. He's a published author titled: Purpose: How following your personal legend is the answer to your midlife crisis.”. Aimed at men between the ages of 30 to 45 who already possess The 5 Virtues of a good man. Provider, protector, courage, temperance and faith.
