In this powerful and contemplative episode of The Cory Lee Show, Cory Lee takes a unique approach by reading in full Charles Spurgeon's classic sermon, "A Call to Holy Living," originally delivered on January 14, 1872, at the Metropolitan Tabernacle. The episode opens with Corey sharing a personal anecdote about discovering a collection of Spurgeon’s sermons in a Bible story museum bookstore—an experience that inspired this heartfelt reading.
The message dives deeply into faith, integrity, and the tangible expression of Christian values, urging listeners to examine how their lives reflect their beliefs. Spurgeon's stirring words, brought to life by Cory, challenge the audience not to settle for average, but to strive for a holiness and love that genuinely set them apart: "What do you do more than others?" The episode inspires authenticity, devotion, and a life of impact, reminding believers that true faith must be demonstrated through consistent, Christ-like living.
5 Key Takeaways
Justification and Holiness Go Hand in HandFaith alone justifies, but authentic faith must produce the fruits of righteousness. As Cory reads, Spurgeon emphasizes that “sanctification must not be forgotten or overlaid by justification”—holy living is the evidence of true faith (02:29).
Christians Are Called to a Higher StandardThe episode underscores that believers are not only expected to match moral standards of society, but to exceed them. They “profess more,” “have more,” and should therefore “do more than others” (06:43). Genuine faith must be matched by an exemplary life that stands as a beacon to the world.
Faith Must Be Visible in ActionMerely claiming Christianity is insufficient—Spurgeon calls it a “felony against God” if one’s actions do not align with one’s profession of faith (08:19). The world, church, and Christ expect a demonstration of renewed character, integrity, and love.
Holiness Is Empowered By the Spirit, Not Human StrengthCory highlights, both through Spurgeon’s words and his own reflection, that living a pure and holy life is not achievable by willpower alone. It is possible through the strength and enabling of the Holy Spirit (45:12), making extraordinary love and purity attainable.
Love and Good Works Are the Greatest EvidenceThe sermon and episode culminate in the call for believers to excel in love, generosity, and practical care for others (39:29). Selflessness, honesty, purity, and consistent benevolence are presented as hallmarks of those truly led by Christ. This episode is a stirring call to action—asking every listener to examine their own walk and pursue a life that both honors God and transforms the culture around them.

Welcome to The Cory Lee Show.
In this episode listen in as Cory Lee brings you inside a dynamic, interactive conference session focused on the mindset and habits that separate true champions from the crowd.
This episode is packed with engaging stories, actionable insights, and the kind of practical advice that empowers you to raise your expectations, overcome setbacks, and positively influence everyone around you. Whether you’re leading a team or looking to lead yourself better, Cory Lee delivers the knowledge and encouragement you crave.
## 5 Key Takeaways from this Episode
1. Mindset Shapes Performance: You will never outperform your own self-image. Shifting your focus—from fear of failure to visualizing success—directly impacts your energy and outcomes.
2. Consistency is the “Boring Key” to Success: Small, daily disciplines compound over time. Trophies aren’t handed out for the process, but sustainable success comes from what you do behind the scenes.
3. Champion Others to Become a True Champion: True leaders believe in others before those people might believe in themselves. Investing in the growth of those around you leads to significance, not just success.
4. Attitude is a Choice and a Superpower: You can’t control what others say or do, but you always control your attitude and response. Maintaining a positive, proactive mindset helps you thrive under pressure.
5. Evaluate and Evolve Through Failure: Failure isn’t your enemy—avoiding growth is. Champions view failure as data for improvement, reflecting on what to change and when it’s time to adapt or pursue new seasons.

What happens when success no longer satisfies—and you realize there’s more you’re being called to?
In this powerful episode of The Cory Lee Show, Cory sits down with Robert DeLaurentiis, known around the world as The Peace Pilot—an aviation circumnavigator, Navy Gulf War veteran, author, philanthropist, and global ambassador for peace. Robert has flown solo across all seven continents, over both poles, through 53 countries, carrying scientific missions for NASA and the Scripps Institution of Oceanography—yet his greatest journey has been an inward one.
Robert shares the moment everything shifted: a quiet walk in a park that awakened him to the reality that achievement without awareness can leave you disconnected from purpose. From that moment, he began listening—deeply—and what followed was a life marked by radical obedience, faith-filled risk, and an unwavering commitment to something bigger than himself.
Throughout the conversation, Cory and Robert explore:
How to recognize when God is stirring something new within you
Why silence, stillness, and listening are essential for clarity and direction
The connection between faith, persistence, and resilience
What endurance—whether in business, life, or extreme adventures—reveals about who we’re becoming
Why giving more is often the key to receiving more
How failure, suffering, and discomfort shape us for future impact
Practical wisdom for getting off the sidelines when fear or finances feel like barriers
Robert also recounts harrowing moments from his polar circumnavigation—fuel spraying into the cockpit, life-or-death decisions, and the realization that the mission mattered more than his own safety. These stories become profound metaphors for leadership, sacrifice, and trusting God in uncertainty.
This episode is a reminder that you were created for more than comfort, that faith often requires movement, and that the most meaningful breakthroughs happen when we’re willing to listen—and then act.
If you’ve ever felt a quiet nudge, wrestled with fear, or questioned whether it’s worth taking the risk…this conversation is for you.CONNECT WITH ROBERTEmail: ftlwithrobert@gmail.comWebsite: FlyingThruLife.comLinkedIn: in/RDelaurentisCheck out his movie:

Welcome to The Cory Lee Show! In this episode, Cory returns after a break and explains how a 40-day “brainwash fast” helped him recognize the constant distractions in daily life. He cut out social media, books, podcasts, and most entertainment, allowing just the Bible and worship music. The aim was to silence outside noise and discover what was really shaping his thoughts and habits.
One unexpected benefit was improved sleep, as his mind wasn’t so rushed and overstimulated. Cory and his family also realized how much time they spent just keeping busy—even when it wasn’t necessary. The fast revealed how easy it is to be distracted, and how we often fill downtime with things like social media, trading, or games just to keep our minds occupied.
He reflects on the meaning of the word "entertain,” noting it literally means “to hold your mind,” which can often just be a distraction. Cory highlights the importance of evaluating experiences rather than just living them, drawing on biblical examples like Hebrews 12 to encourage listeners to lay aside distractions—anything that pulls attention from their purpose.
A key lesson was recognizing that personal worth isn’t defined by constant activity or productivity. During the fast, Cory wrestled with feelings of frustration and worthlessness when he wasn’t busy, realizing how deep-rooted this thinking can be. He encourages listeners to see value in simply being present with God, instead of always “doing.”
Several personal stories punctuate the episode, including Cory's experience officiating his first wedding and funeral in the same week. He shares how stepping outside his comfort zone and intentionally connecting with others allowed new opportunities for encouragement and prayer—even when outcomes weren’t what he expected.
A powerful takeaway from this season is the call to remove “encumbrances”—even good things that become distractions—so you can stay focused on faith and purpose. Cory shares a vivid dream highlighting how easy it is to become a disengaged follower, distracted by the noise around us instead of seeking God’s presence.
He closes by reminding listeners that when God reveals things in our hearts, it’s not for shame, but for healing. Cory encourages you to evaluate your own distractions, lay them down, and return your focus to what matters most.
Thanks for tuning in—and if you enjoyed this episode or have a story to share, reach out and stay connected for more of The Cory Lee Show!
